Hames Center Operations Manager

The Hames Center Operations Manager ensures that all aspects of the facility run smoothly. The Manager works within the hours of the Hames Center, however the position requires some longer days and some weekends. The Operations Manager works under the oversight and guidance of the Director.

Duties Include:

Ensuring gym members receive excellent customer service.
Preparing financial projections for the director
Analyzing foot traffic and overall gym popularity
Managing inventory, and ordering supplies and equipment.
Recruiting, hiring, and managing trainers, instructors and other staff and volunteers
Arranging for cleaning and repairs
Designing ads and maintaining web site and social media

Hames Center Manager Tasks

Maintain a positive relationship between customers and the fitness club through effective communication and outreach.
Manage budget to maximize profits, overseeing the payroll and department expenditures.
Meet with staff to facilitate communication of objectives, needs, and concerns.
Maintains and administers a sound organizational plan, keep and present monthly records and reports (group usage, inventory of products sold and equipment, MINDBODY updates, Security Verification) to the Hames Advisory Team (HAT)
Train and update staff- weekly meetings and produce timely minutes to monitor prompt follow up and duties completed

Salary and Benefits

$35,000-$45,000 DOE

Paid vacation begins at 2 weeks/year.

Qualifications

1. BA degree from an accredited college in Recreation Facilities Management, Sports Administration, Business, or Physical Education major preferred; other relevant majors acceptable.

2. Two years experience supervising staff or managing recreation related program/facility.

3. Two years experience working with volunteers. Experience may be gained concurrently with either #1 or #2.

4. Relevant work experience may be substituted for BA degree on a year-for-year basis.
