Venue Supervisor, Weddings – First Congregational Church of Los Angeles (FCCLA) – Los Angeles, CA

First Congregational Church of Los Angeles (FCCLA) is seeking a full-time (32 hours/week) Wedding Venue Supervisor.

General Summary:

This position will spearhead all details of weddings booked at FCCLA, serving as the main point of contact for all couples and vendors, and providing the majority of administrative support for our growing weddings business. This is a highly independent job, working as part of a two-person team with the Wedding and Events manager. The successful candidate will be very self-motivated, conscientious and compassionate with interpersonal interactions, and incredibly detail-oriented.

This position is a 32-hour-per-week position, with a Thursday-Sunday workweek. You will be required to work all Saturdays and occasional Sundays. Please do not apply if you cannot commit to weekend availability. Salary is $18-20/hour, dependent on experience, and benefits will be offered, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 403(b) matching, FSA, vacation and sick leave.

Very strong, established, proficient background required in one or more of the following:

Event Planning, Coordinating, Special Events, Production and/or Customer Service

Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred

Job Requirements:

Engage in impeccable customer service with contracted church wedding couples through email, phone calls, and in person. This job is dependent on heavy interpersonal contact.
Maintain contract files, update/confirm information, and arrange/schedule meetings/rehearsal.
Conduct some wedding rehearsals.
Supervise ALL rehearsals and weddings.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Windows Explorer, and Outlook—calendar and email functions) and internet research tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Work independently, as well as closely with Wedding and Events Manager in a supplementary way.
Must be open and welcoming with extremely diverse couples/guests; respect and acceptance required of all cultures, traditions, races, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses, religions, and spirituality.
