Program Manager – Big Sunday – Los Angeles, CA

PRIMARY PURPOSE/NATURE OF WORK

Big Sunday is based on the idea that absolutely everyone has some way that they can help somebody else — and that we get much more done when we work together. We are based in Los Angeles, and provide all kinds of ways for all kinds of people to help out and give back throughout the year. The majority of our work is done in the Los Angeles area, but we have done work through the US and internationally.

We seeking a Program Manager to take a lead role in the planning and running of a number of our one-time and ongoing events, both large and small. He or she will also take a lead role in managing, overseeing and growing some of our online programs. This person may also be called on to help develop new programming, too.

This is a new position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Plan and manage ongoing and one-time events involving anywhere from a few people to hundreds or thousands of people
Assist in the planning and managing of other events
Maintain and grow current programs
Consider and potential create new and additional program
Oversee and coordinate some of our online programming
Manage and/or assist aspects of our corporate days of service

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

At least 4 years’ experience with at least one of the following: event planning, project management, crowd management
Previous experience in a managerial position is a plus.
Able to see the big picture, make a plan and follow through.
Well organized
Able and happy to take responsibility
Able to delegate
Imaginative
Able to understand the spirit of Big Sunday programming and allow it to thrive and grow Being a kind and compassionate person.
Good computer skills are mandatory.
Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds in all kinds of environments

Able to multitask
Able to work within a budget.
You will need to work the occasional evening, and at least one weekend day or evening per month, sometimes two.
You must be available the weekend of April 25 and 26, 2015 and May 2 and 3, 2015.
