Online Presence Coordinator / Editor – Survivors’ Truths

DESCRIPTION
Survivors’ Truths is an all-volunteer non-profit organization with an office in Los Feliz. We use a variety of media to work with groups who have experienced severe violence or marginalization. Our approach emphasizes the part of each person’s story that is about how they have coped with their difficult circumstances–to uncover the untold stories of knowledge, strength, capacity, and connection. These stories are healing, informative, and inspiring.

Current projects are with transgender youth, people impacted by homelessness, and (international) war survivors. In 2018, we are looking to re-brand and expand our capacity to help other organizations do what they do better – amplifying our impact and accelerating change.

To to this, we need someone who is comfortable writing, editing, and working in online spaces who is outcomes-oriented and has a can-do attitude, impeccable work ethic, and a passion for social justice and human rights.

This volunteer will work closely with the Executive Director to update and develop organization’s online presence including and beyond the website, re-defining and ensuring a consistent, professional, engaging online personality/voice.

Position requires:
Very strong writing skills.
Facility navigating online platforms.
A desire to learn and grow professionally.
Well-developed organizational skills and professional follow-through.
5 – 10 hours per week, minimum of three months commitment. (If internship credit is required, hours should be 10 – 15 per week).

You will work directly with and report to the Executive Director and/or Board of Directors.
