We have an exciting new full-time, senior level position: Director of Development. This position will be based in the council’s Boston office and will report to the Chief Development Officer.

The Director of Development will propose, plan and execute effective fundraising strategies for annual giving and alumnae relations in support of the mission of Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts during an exciting time of growth. The position is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, managing, and stewarding current and prospective donors, with a significant focus on individuals and the pipeline from annual donors to leadership gifts. This is a senior position within a Fund Development team of seven professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 or more years of nonprofit fundraising experience. Some Annual Fund experience strongly preferred. Planned Giving, Major Gifts or Special Events experience is also desirable. Other requirements include:

Demonstrated track record of closing gifts and developing relationships with donors is essential. Experience cultivating volunteers and/or alumni to increase financial philanthropic investment, a plus.
Experience with capital campaigns highly desirable. Willingness to be part of organization’s growth and expansion to create a broader and deeper culture of philanthropy.
Two or more years of staff supervisory experience preferred. Strong interest and ability to mentor staff required.
Experience with fundraising data management systems is required. Raiser’s Edge and/or Salesforce is highly desirable. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
Demonstrated success managing projects on deadline and on budget required. Ability to set priorities and handle concurrent projects.
Valid driver’s license and access to motor vehicle necessary to carry out responsibilities.
