Administrative Assistant – Catholic Charities of Los Angeles Inc

Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is one of the largest human services providers in California and operates 24 community centers and five homeless shelters, as well as a variety of programs serving the poor including: in-home services for homebound seniors; refugee resettlement; youth employment services; counseling; affordable before-and-after school care; immigration assistance; pre-school for low-income children; and temporary worker center. In addition, Catholic Charities oversees Catholic Youth Organization (CYO), which coordinates interscholastic athletics for the elementary schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

The Executive Director of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc. is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide high-level administrative support and perform a variety of complex administrative duties.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

Provides agenda packet for Board of Trustees.
Coordinates activities between departments/Regions and outside parties.
Provides analytical and specialized administrative support to the Executive Director.
Analyzes and implements policies, procedures operations, and organization.
Maintain computer databases.
Gathers, tabulates, and analyzes facts, and prepares comprehensive reports.
Performs special projects assigned by Executive Director.
Trains and directs assigned personnel.
Relieves Executive Director of administrative details.
Performs general administrative and secretarial duties, such as minutes of meetings and correspondence.
Composes and revises correspondence and memos.
Displays sensitivity to the client population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Associates degree in secretarial science, administration or business.
Three to five years of related experience.
Organization, strong attention to detail, and effective follow through.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
General knowledge of database, spreadsheets and Microsoft Office Programs.
Ability to type at a speed sufficient to meet position requirements.
Excellent English oral & written communication

Location: Corporate Office / Los Angeles

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, M-F, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm

Salary: $12.76 – $17.01 per hour +generous benefits to include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, vacation, sick and holiday pay.
