Marketing Coordinator – Wide Horizons For Children Inc – Waltham, MA

Wide Horizons For Children, a global child welfare organization that is based in Waltham, MA, seeks a highly competent and motivated Marketing Coordinator. At Wide Horizons For Children, we are dedicated to the well-being and security of vulnerable and orphaned children worldwide. We are seeking a talented and resourceful marketing coordinator with strong copywriting skills to join our collaborative team. Reporting to the marketing manager, you will work with program and fundraising staff to develop creative and persuasive original content supporting agency goals. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success identifying and researching stories, drafting, editing and proofreading copy as well as print design and production skills. Specific experience with fundraising would be an important asset. The ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, see the big picture while driving for results, effectively prioritize work and manage projects from concept through design and delivery is required to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

Identifying and researching stories, write, edit and proofread copy
Serve as the primary resource for developing and updating print materials and eblasts
Manage and maintain photo and document library; coordinate proactive outreach to staff and adoptive families to generate new images; obtain all necessary publicity release forms
Coordinate usage/distribution of electronic and print materials; manage internal approvals, list requests and external production and mailing
Coordinate with various vendors, including graphic and printing companies, merchandising companies and other organizations
Other projects and tasks as assigned

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing, communications, journalism or related field is required. Minimum of four years of experience is required in a fast-paced environment, preferably with non-profits.

Desired Skills

Demonstrated ability to distill and synthesize key features and benefits into compelling and creative copy that resonates with readers
Demonstrated expertise with Adobe Creative Suite software (especially InDesign and Photoshop), Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint
Able to manage multiple projects, establish workload priorities, and meet established goals amidst competing priorities and tight deadlines
Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate and build consensus on projects as part of a team
Strong project management skills, with a high degree of accuracy and initiative
Prior experience with conceptualizing, developing and launching a campaign from scratch
Conceptual, creative, big picture thinker who can drive for and deliver results
Ability to influence others by presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations
Service orientation to staff and be a team player with a positive attitude.
