Position: Digital Communications Coordinator

Program: Marketing & Communications

Reports To: Associate Director, Marketing & Communications

Salary: $40,000/year

Status: 100%, Exempt, Full-Time, Regular

Probation: 180 Days

JOB SUMMARY: The Digital Communications Coordinator will provide communications and content coordination across the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s digital media channels, including website, social media, blog, email, and online platforms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate, create, edit, and post content for Center’s digital channels, including email, website, blogs, social media, and online platforms;
Coordinate Center’s email and communications contacts and database lists;
Capture coverage, including photography and videography, at Center events, activities, and programs;
Provide direct coordination support to Digital Communications Manager;
Organize and maintain Department digital and server files
Coordinate project-related activities with outside vendors;
File, answer phone calls, order/maintain supplies and equipment, and process invoices and bills for Department as needed;
Represent the Center at community and stakeholder-related functions, events, and activities;
Identify and complete professional development opportunities and activities focused on skills and management progression;
Other duties as assigned;

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 1 years of experience for a nonprofit organization, coordinating digital communications and content preferred;
Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HTML, website content management systems, and social media platforms;
Proven ability and experience working in a collaborative team environment;
Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and communications skills;
A passion for the Center’s work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBT people;
A creative and detail-orientated self-starter who can work quickly and independently in a fast-paced campaign environment, managing multiple projects in an ever-changing environment;
Willing and able to work evenings and weekends, when necessary;
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, photography, and videography a plus;
Proven track record of work with a strong customer-centric focus.
