Foundation Grants Manager – Scion Nonprofit Staffing – St Louis, MO

Scion Executive Search has been retained to conduct a search for a Foundation Grants Manager for our client, a well-known and long-established national social service organization. This is a full-time position for immediate hire. This position will be based out of Phoenix, Arizona. Relocation assistance is available for successful qualified candidates!

THE JOB & WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Manage a $3M to $5M grantmaking portfolio
Identify potential grantees and projects in key communities that are consistent with the goals of the organization and its grantmaking focus areas.
Provide counsel to organizations invited to develop proposals. Review proposals, including budgets and financials, and determine which ones will be further developed and recommended for funding.
Provide primary support for the maintenance of active grants including regular communications and problem solving with grantee, report review, analysis and feedback
Successfully and skillfully align in-depth market knowledge with our client’s business objectives to deliver a focused and integrated community-based strategy.
Coordinate efforts across various stakeholders including local internal business partners, nor-for-profit organizations, local public sector officials, community leaders, and fellow associates.
Identify and implement operational grantmaking “best practices” within the region that can potentially be scaled.
Participate in organization-wide meetings to review grant recommendations, provide updates on grantee progress, determine technical assistance needs of grantees, discuss evaluation and communications activities and share and reflect on experiences in the field and related program activity.
Represent the organization in a variety of settings. Organize, facilitate and attend meetings with funders, grantees, grant-seekers, community members and other key constituents and stakeholders
Develop and maintain a productive network of professional relationships with key government, philanthropic, non-profit and community leaders.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
7+ years of relevant work experience in grant making roles with corporate philanthropic organizations, foundations or similar settings.
Must have a strong understanding of grantmaking and the non-profit sector, with proven leadership in creating dynamic portfolio’s that meet community needs and engage business leaders
Knowledge of program design and implementation; ability to assess the leadership, track record, fiscal health and capacity of a nonprofit organization to lead a program or project
Ability to travel 20% to 40% within an assigned region in the United States.
