Project Logistics Operations Associate – Maersk – The Woodlands

As an Operations Associate, you will be responsible for the end to end file handling to ensure shipment and document data quality, and on time release and/or delivery of freight. Your high attention to detail will ensure financial accuracy thereby improving profitablity and you will need to be able to think out of the box to troubleshoot any potential errors.

Key responsibilities
-Planning the shipment, sending pre-advice to destination where required, and performing the export compliance check to ensure these aren’t violated

-Receiving the booking and creating the job file by registering the booking details in Damco’s operating system – Kewill

-Performing the export compliance check to ensure no shipments violate the regulations and once the booking reference with carriers has been received the booking confirmation is sent to the customer.

-Performing the sanity and feasibility check as part of receiving the booking

-Validation of customer record (details) and the outstanding credit for customer to determine if job should be accepted.

-For ocean jobs the Carrier Planner role is responsible for receiving the draft carrier bill of lading.

-Arranging inland transport , that include coordination with transport provider and validation of relevant transport documents

-Supports company commitment to ISO 9001, 14001, OSHAS 18001 certification

We are looking for
-High School Degree or equivalent required with 1 to 2 years of related experience in the ocean and air export forwarding either handling operational execution and/or customer service
-OR Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in related industry with 3 to 4 years of customer service experience in a related industry

-Working knowledge of Freight Forwarder Operations including the following preferred:
-Basic IATA / NVOCC Knowledge
-Basic FAA, TSA, FMC Regulations
-Basic Export Regulations / AES
-Basic ITAR, FCPA, FCA Compliance Regulatory Knowledge
-General CBP Knowledge
-Clearance procedures / AMS – AAMS / POA

Other qualifications required:
-A strong execution minded individual with strong financial technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus including an understanding of systems.
-Self-directed, displays initiative and can work independently
-Team player with proven ability to work under pressure
-Ability to quickly adapt & work with new software
-Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office Products, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
-Spanish speaking skills preferred
