Head of Marketing – Maersk – Miramar

We are looking for Head of Marketing to join our North America SeaLand team. This position will be based in Miramar, FL.

The Marketing team develops and drives lead generation and brand positioning activities to deliver tangible, bottom line results for the SeaLand Intra-Americas brand. The Head of Marketing is accountable for ensuring the execution of the Marketing strategy, aligned to the overall business strategy. The Head of Marketing role´s true purpose is to develop and implement marketing plans and programs for
SeaLand across North America, Latin America and The Caribbean, building and managing a team to implement and support these programs.
The position requires someone who is equally collaborative, innovative, proactive and results-driven. The willingness to put in the extra time to deliver through the marketing team an experience and product that meets the very high standards of colleagues and, most importantly customers is essential. This position will work in close coordination with a diverse set of stakeholders throughout the organization, including the SeaLand C-Level suit, Head of Customer Service, as well as Cluster Tops across the region, to ensure alignment of goals and
objectives between all marketing and commercial related activities. The ability to direct multiple projects in a fast-paced, quality oriented atmosphere while demonstrating the capability to innovate and manage through any roadblocks that arise is necessary.

Key responsibilities
Manages staff. Provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary to develop staff. Hires, evaluates and counsels personnel. Follows corporate disciplinary procedures per established Maersk Group standards as required. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback, and recommends salary increases and reviews in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
Supports the CCO and commercial, customer service and trade organizations across the region by being a key role in the prospecting process and in order to develop leads, as well as developing the means to deepen relationships with existing clients.
Contribute at Regional Leadership Team meetings and participate in defining and cascading Sealand’s strategy. Oversee gathering of competitive information and activities and make recommendations.
Partners with various SeaLand departments in the development and implementation of marketing programs and communication tools, including Customer Service, Sales, Operations, and Finance.
Coordinates governance activities with senior leadership and ensures integration, as needed, across other Maersk Group business units (Maersk Line in particular).
Develops, adapts and maintains together with the team Sealand’s key messages, with a close understanding and alignment to Maersk Group´s global messaging and style guidelines and monitors
planning and implementation for activities related to SeaLand in terms of sales, marketing, customer service, and trade meetings and events with these guidelines top-of-mind for the audience.
In charge of developing and leading the adherence to SeaLand brand guidelines and principles across the region. Develops Sealand’s web and digital media strategy, working closely with internal SeaLand and Maersk Group business partners, as well as third party vendors to ensure implementation success.
Ensures customer acquisition drives are completed accurately, on time, and in an attractive and standardized way, including following consistent regional processes and enterprise systems. Ensures the
marketing team delivers support to product launches, volume drives, campaigns, local events and customer service drives.
In charge of internal communication planning and management, ensuring top- down communication is effectively cascaded across the region.Leads the development of the annual marketing strategy and budget that supports SeaLand business and sales plans. Monitors and modifies marketing strategy and tactics as needed.
Responsible for all activity, output, and results across the marketing mix, including collateral, website content and functionality, advertising, PR, events, client communications, sales support, market research, market intelligence, social media, events etc. Determines the positioning and packaging of Sealand’s offerings by crafting compelling arguments to ensure that clients and prospects understand the benefits of Sealand’s services, and regional capabilities. Creates and monitors measurements to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of marketing programs. Ensure that programs are fiscally responsible
and are completed within budget. Determine optimal mix of insourcing and outsourcing work. Manage external vendor and agency relationships.
Keeps abreast of industry trends and developments and regulatory issues through the review of industry publications and market research, by participating in industry and professional associations, attending industry conferences, and through contact with industry experts. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of client needs and trends. Manages and/or participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Graduate degree in Marketing and/or International Trade preferred.
Minimum of 10 years business experience with at least 5 years in marketing or marketing related experience.
Working knowledge in the following areas; familiarity in one area must be balanced by technical expertise in others: experience with shipping practices; experience of marketing on a B2B environment; client relationship experience () in sales, marketing, or customer services; knowledge of international trade, shipping and commodities marketing.
Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage others.
Demonstrated client focus on client needs and client communications.
Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Fully Bi-lingual English/Spanish (spoken and written) is strongly preferred
