Director, After-School Training / Model Fidelity – Good Shepherd Services – New York, NY

A leading NYC non-profit that has been recognized for its commitment to the success of young people and families, is currently seeking an After-School Training & Model Fidelity Director located in Manhattan.

The goal of the Good Shepherd after school program is to create a safe, engaging and inclusive community, rich in developmental opportunities that helps youth to identify their unique talents and gifts and empowers them with a sense of belonging, skill mastery & leadership. To this end we are implementing an agency-wide practice model that is grounded in Social Group Work Theory and Circle of Courage (a Native American approach to youth development). The position is two-fold. Initially, the After School Training & Model Fidelity Director will manage the implementation of this after school practice model (social group work and Circle of Courage) by supporting staff in mastering the practice model — via training, coaching and development of materials — throughout all after school programs and ensuring model fidelity. In addition the Director will ensure that all required trainings of the afterschool staff be consistent across all programs and coordinate the delivery. This position will closely collaborate with the after school Education Directors, Division Directors and Program Directors – as well as the Program, Evaluation and Planning department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Social Work or related field required
Demonstrated strong knowledge of social group work, as well as practice experience
Min 5 years of experience working in after school programs
Experience facilitating groups and conducting training
Familiarity with Circle of Courage a plus
Ability to collaborate with multiple programs/divisions and all levels of staff
Willingness and ability to travel to program sites throughout the boroughs on a regular basis
Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service sensibility
Proficient in MS Office
