Social Innovation Intern – CWS Incubation Lab – San Francisco, CA

Do something new.

The CWS Incubation Lab is offering a one-of-a-kind internship experience for students who are creative and passionate about changing the world.
We’re about innovation in the nonprofit/for-cause sector.

The CWS Incubation Lab is a new initiative of CWS, an international humanitarian aid and development organization that has been working to eradicate global hunger and poverty for nearly seven decades. We work in over 30 countries, providing refugee assistance, disaster relief, and sustainable self-help. Our volunteers organize around 1,300 CROP Hunger Walks annually and assemble CWS Kits for distribution around the world. To continue advancing our mission in a rapidly changing world, we created the incubation lab with the goal of developing innovative new projects that engage diverse communities in building a better world.

This isn’t your typical student internship.

As an intern for the CWS Incubation Lab, you will be involved in a unique learning experience that includes developing new approaches to nonprofit sector work as well as hands-on implementation of pilot projects. Our work is collaborative, and your voice counts.

What’s in it for you?

This internship will provide valuable experience and practical skills with an established nonprofit organization committed to making a difference in the world. Upon successful completion of the internship, we would be happy to provide you with a letter of recommendation. Other benefits include opportunities to network within the field of international development and humanitarian aid. Please note that this is an unpaid internship.

What’s the commitment?

The internship commitment is 10-12 hours per week for one semester (or six months). Most of the work can be done remotely; depending on your location, some meetings and group work sessions will require in-person meetings.

How to apply

Please create a short video (1-2 minutes) to introduce yourself and share a story or interest related to building a better world – a webcam or smartphone will work well for this. Send the video with a cover letter and resume to incubationlab@cwsglobal.org.

The CWS Incubation Lab is committed to building a global and diverse team; we encourage people from historically underrepresented groups in the workplace to apply.
