Events Monitor / Building Attendant – Senior Services – Seattle, WA

Summary:

Maintains the security and cleanliness of the building, including during non-operational times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor all areas of the facility during the day, evening and/or weekend usage including rentals.
Responsible for stocking restrooms with supplies, paper towels, toilet paper, soap and other appropriate supplies. Helps to insure the cleanliness of the facility.
Empties trash, food compost and recycle containers in offices, kitchen and throughout facility.
Ensure renters follow their contract / center policy by cleaning up facility and properly maintaining center property during and after rental.
Review inventory count of items such as tablecloths, linens, chairs, tables and other items for condition of items and to insure proper count of items to be returned after event has concluded.
Record events such as property damage or unusual occurrences to the center director.
Accept payment for classes, rentals and record information in a ledger, and provide receipt.
Contact 911, police, detox, fire department, and other service agencies and appropriate staff for assistance as needed.
Demonstrate an eagerness to learn and enhance skills that promote equity and inclusion.
Participate in events related to understanding institutional racism and other forms of oppression.
Other duties as necessary and/or assigned, including driving van occasionally.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and Experience:

High School diploma or GED.
Previous security experience desired.

Skills and Abilities:

Must be at least 25 years of age, for insurance purposes.
Valid Washington State driver’s license with no moving violations in the past three years required.
Ability to lift 50lbs to set up tables and chairs and move furniture according to rental contract..
Basic computer knowledge to access center schedule of events in Outlook Calendar.
Strong communication skills, customer service or people-oriented.
Dependable in work attendance, appearance, reliability and flexibility.
Conflict resolution skills a plus.

Note: All employees are subject to periodic Washington State Patrol Criminal History Background Checks and must complete a Criminal History Self-Disclosure Form.

SALARY: $14.00 per hour
