Rescue / Adoption Coordinator – Voice for the Animals – Santa Monica, CA

Rescue & Adoption Coordinator needed to start ASAP for well-known non-profit 501c3 animal welfare organization located in Venice. Approx. 25 hours per week. Must be available to work in the office from 10:30am to 3:30pm Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays and MUST be available to work every Sunday from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Best for an animal lover who has experience coordinating, volunteering or working for animal rescue organizations (experience with cats is especially important). Priority given to applicants who live on the Westside (Venice, Santa Monica, Mar Vista, Culver City, Marina del Rey, Pacific Palisades, West LA).

Responsibilities:
– Manage the adoption and foster programs, including outreach and marketing, application screening, organizing paperwork, and providing counseling and support to foster parents and adopters
-Organize logistics and manage staff for weekly adoption events
– Coordinate transport and details for spay/neuter appointments, vet visits, home checks, and animal placements
– Handle medical and other emergencies quickly and effectively

Skills Required:
Must be a strong communicator and able to respond to emails and texts very quickly. We have a fast paced office and you need to be able to communicate effectively with others. Must have good organizational skills, the ability to multitask and prioritize, and be able to keep track of lots of details and logistics. Staff or volunteer management experience preferred. Bachelors degree proffered.
