Girl Scouts of Western Washington (girlscoutsww.org) is seeking a Regional Director to implement an integrated strategy that includes recruitment and retention of members, volunteer management and support of regionally responsive programming. The Regional Director oversee a cross-functional team that ensures that Girl Scouts is marketed and accessible to girls and adult volunteers. This individual ensures that Girl Scouts offers fulfilling, fun, and flexible experiences for the many diverse communities of girls and volunteers in their region – King County. The position is based in Bellevue.

Essential Functions

With a focus on significant growth, ensure regional success in membership recruitment and retention, programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; align timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic growth goals.

Become involved in and knowledgeable of the region’s diverse racial and ethnic communities. Build relationships within underserved communities.

Lead, coach, develop, and retain GSWW’s high-performance regional staff team. Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the GSWW board, senior management, funders, and other constituents.

Actively engage and energize GSWW’s regional volunteers, committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders.

Actively collaborate with other regions and departments. Engage in open-dialogue, continuous learning, and timely follow-up action.

Responsible for ensuring that Girl Scout members experience quality programming based on the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE). Deliverables should support the organization’s strategic plan and program initiatives, and whenever possible, directly link to the GSUSA National Program Portfolio.

Supervise assigned staff. Recruit, interview, hire, provide training and development as appropriate, evaluate, counsel, provide conflict management and discipline as needed. Provide regular one-on-one meetings with staff and timely support to volunteers. Conduct staff team meetings. Support staff retention and professional growth.

In addition to the above, perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience
· Minimum four years’ experience supervising employees
· Minimum three years’ experience successfully managing or supporting volunteers in direct or indirect program delivery
· Previous non-profit experience as a board member or senior manager preferred
· Strong marketing, public relations and / or fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
· Previous experience leading and regionally scaling a performance and outcomes-based team preferred
· Demonstrated success working in cross-functional teams
· Demonstrated experience developing and operationalizing strategies
· Experience with quality youth program and data-driven program evaluation preferred
· Previous experience developing and cultivating working relationships with volunteer and/or community leaders
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills
· Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to organizational planning
· Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people and across multiple organizational channels and departments
· Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed
· Knowledge of youth development strongly preferred
· Demonstrated experience successfully working with a variety of racial and ethnic groups strongly preferred
· Willingness and ability to demonstrate a commitment to support the organization’s efforts to enhance the diversity and cultural and global awareness of volunteers, girls and staff
· Previous work experience utilizing conflict resolution skills
· Availability to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, as necessary
· Ability and willingness to work remotely or from a home office, on occasion
· Skilled in Outlook, Word and Excel, and familiarity with Access or other database system
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritizes deadlines, work independently, take initiative, highly organized, and maintain confidentiality in a fast paced and challenging work environment
· Valid Washington State driver’s license, vehicle in working condition, proof of insurance, or the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography
· Satisfactory results from criminal background search
· Willingness to maintain membership in Girl Scouts
