Project Administrator

Businesses Ending Slavery and Trafficking (BEST) is a non-profit organization with a mission to align and equip leaders to use the power of business to prevent human trafficking. BEST is a young start-up that aims to build the capacity of businesses to become socially responsible and sustainable on the issue of human trafficking. One of our primary projects is working with the lodging industry to raise awareness and provide training and resources for hotel employees to identify and prevent sex trafficking.

BEST is seeking a Project Administrator who will assist the Executive Director to execute projects and who will provide general administrative support. The position is currently part-time (15-20 hours/week) but hours worked are poised to increase as the organization grows. The person hired for this position will also have the opportunity for growth in responsibility as the organization grows.

Duties may include (but are not limited to):

Convening, preparing, and recording meetings between diverse constituencies
Event planning and support for training events
Communicating with stakeholders about a diversity of topics related to our programs
Research, including data collection and entry
Volunteer management
Support for board meetings and board functions
Limited bookkeeping
Help with grant writing
A variety of administrative functions

Detailed
Ability to produce high quality work
Excellent at executing a plan or idea and taking ownership to bring the plan to fruition
Intelligent, learns quickly, and adapts easily to new situations
Enjoys playing a supportive role
Proactive and able to work independently without a high-level of management oversight
Good problem-solving skills
Enjoys working alone for extended periods yet personable and hospitable to stakeholders
Ability to continue working in the organization for the long-term
Ability to relate professionally and respectfully to a wide range of people, from trafficking survivors to law enforcement officers to CEOs
Bachelor’s Degree, preferred in Business, English/Literature, Criminal Justice, or Social Work

Preferred Capacities and Skills:

Ability to use or learn to use Quickbooks
Speaks two or more languages
Background in business sustainability
Background in human trafficking prevention

Pay scale: $12-18/hour starting pay with opportunity for growth.
