Political Manager – Climate Cabinet – San Francisco

Key Responsibilities:
Drive the candidate endorsement process
Evaluate endorsement applications through researching climate implications of the race, electoral dynamics, candidates, and partnerships.
Prepare materials for endorsement announcements.
Support relationship building with candidates and partner organizations.
Evaluate proactive outreach opportunities based on strategic targeting
Evaluate opportunities for proactive outreach to candidates based on climate opportunity of the race and political importance. This requires synthesizing information from internal data and research programs, as well as external partners.
Manage timelines to ensure outreach as-needed in year-round local elections.
Coordinate with political, data, and policy teams to support ongoing landscape analysis.
Coordinate educational programming for campaigns
Coordinate resource creation, webinars, and office hours to support candidates with winning climate messaging and policy platforms.
Track impact
Keep tabs on past and present Climate Slate candidates via social media and periodic research bursts, in order to consistently assess impact of Climate Slate candidates
Maintain organized, up-to-date internal systems to support high volume of candidates and relationship management

Required Qualifications:
3+ years experience with political campaigns and/or politics in battleground states.
Must have knowledge of political campaigning and campaign strategy, including: campaign planning & management, messaging best practices, campaign finance, and coalition building.
The ideal candidate will also have professional or academic experience with climate, energy, and/or environmental justice policy and/or advocacy.
Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking, and project management skills.
Strong writing skills.
Highly organized and strong attention to detail.
Excited about working in a small, mission-driven, fully remote work environment.
Location: Remote – preference for any battleground state in the US. Preference for Arizona, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or Wisconsin. Some travel required.

Compensation:
$50,000-$60,000/year salary
