Manager of Corporate / Foundation Relations – The Frick Collection – New York, NY

Background
The Frick Collection is an art museum consisting of more than 1,100 works of art from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century, displayed in the intimate surroundings of the former home of Henry Clay Frick. The residence, with its furnishings and works of art, has been open to the public since 1935. The Frick Art Reference Library is an internationally recognized research library that serves as one of the most complete resources for the study of Western art. Founded in 1920, the Library today holds more than one million study photographs, 285,000 books, 80,000 auction catalogs, and 2,250 periodical titles. It is open to interested individuals from all over the world.

Summary and Responsibilities

The position is responsible for handling the organization and logistical details of the relationship between The Frick Colelction and its corporate, foundation and government donors. This position reports to the Associate Director of Leadership Gifts & Special Campaigns and is part of the capital campaign for the Frick team that also includes the Head of Publications for External Affairs and the Campaign and Planned Giving Coordinator.

Qualifications

The Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations must be a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with the ability to work proactively and independently and to be a collegial and collaborative member of the Campaign team.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in the humanities. Minimum of two years’ grant-making experience, preferably in a cultural institution. Excellent writing skills. Successful track record in writing grant proposals and building and maintaining relationships with corporate and foundation funders and other constituents. Background or interest in the visual arts preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines. Computer literacy in a Windows environment/Microsoft Office Suite; Raiser’s Edge useful.
