International Nonprofit Seeks Partnerships Manager – Atlas Service Corps – Washington, DC

Atlas Corps connects leading social change organization with experience professionals from around the world for a yearlong fellowship designed to strengthen organizations, develop leaders and foster innovation. In September 2014, President Obama announced the “Emerging Global Leaders Initiative-Atlas Corps Fellowship” at the Clinton Global Initiative. This White House Commitment resulted in a new partnership between the U.S. Department of State and Atlas Corps to bring 100 of the world’s best civil society leaders to the U.S. as EGLI-Atlas Corps Fellows. With ambitious goals for growth over the next two years, Atlas Corps seeks an achievement-oriented, self-starter who is willing to work hard towards accelerated professional and organizational growth goals as our new Partnerships Manager.

Our new Partnerships Manager is an energetic, organized, people-person with partnership-building and relationship-management skills and inter-cultural competency to join our team. The primary focus of this position is developing new partnerships with leading social change organizations across the United States like CARE International, the Malala Fund and Points of Light. The Partnerships Team is composed of two Partnerships Managers who work collaboratively to cultivate new partners, stewards current partners and helps shape the national Host Organization recruitment strategy in collaboration with the Chief Operating Officer who leads the partnerships team.

Over the last nine years, Atlas Corps has grown steadily and demonstrated proof of concept. Now a $3m nonprofit with eleven full-time staff, Atlas Corps has engaged over 300 leaders from 70 countries while maintaining a highly competitive selection rate of just 2.5%. Our Fellowship placements have transformed the work of top social change organizations like Ashoka, the Grameen Foundation, InsideNGO, Susan G. Komen, Points of Light, Peace Corps, Special Olympics, and many others. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and build relationships with prospective Host Organizations across the U.S. through research, mass communications, introductions and attending conferences and events.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Partnerships Department to develop strategies for connecting with new and existing Host Organizations
Identify and understand the talent needs of prospective Host Organizations in order to evaluate potential Fellow matches from our pool of over 3000 candidates from 130 countries.
Shepherd prospective Host Organizations through the selection process to ensure the best possible Fellow match.
Ensure that current Host Organizations have successful hosting experiences by delivering an effective orientation; maintaining regular communications; conducting site visits and evaluations; and providing on-going coaching and support to supervisors and Fellows.
Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective Host Organizations by responding to or acknowledging emails and telephone calls within 24 hours; effectively communicating the process, next steps and time line; and respond to challenges with what can be done (not what can’t be done).

Expectations of All Team Members

Commit to team goals and support the work of colleagues beyond the responsibilities described here. This may include attending events outside of business hours, supporting the Fellow screening process by conducting interviews and reviewing applications; preparing new Fellow housing; and greeting Fellows at the airport.
Maintain all physical and digital files in a uniform way, and in alignment with government requirements.
Support Atlas Corps fundraising initiatives by sharing opportunities to contribute to our mission through social media and other channels.
Seek out opportunities to improve and expand the work of Atlas Corps.
Seek out opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge, and grow professionally.
Contribute to an innovative, high-performing, team culture by engaging in behaviors like: sharing ideas; being open to the ideas of others; accepting and offering feedback; and supporting and treating your colleagues with respect.

Benefits: The full benefits package includes a flexible work schedule and generous vacation and sick leave; employer-paid health insurance; and pre-tax transportation and retirement contribution options. Additionally, Atlas Corps invests in staff professional development to prepare team members for increased responsibility over time. The salary for this position will be based on the skills, experience and education of the selected candidate and range from $35,000 to $40,000. Salaries increase with tenure and increased responsibility.

Qualifications:

As a prerequisite, the successful candidate must believe in the mission of Atlas Corps and share the vision of developing the largest and best multilateral exchange for nonprofit professionals. Beyond that, we are seeking a candidate that has proven experience in sales, relationship-building, and prospect research.

Additional requirements are:

Entrepreneurial and Experienced – Social enterprise experience highly valued.
Sales – Experience in prospecting, developing, and closing partnerships
Results – Proven track record of exceeding goals and a bottom-line orientation; evidence of the ability to consistently make good decisions through a combination of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; high level of business acumen, including the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of the budget; problem solving; creative resourcefulness
Strategic Vision and Agility – Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plans
Tech Savvy – Knowledge of and/or the ability to quickly become familiar with Google applications, Salesforce, Vertical Response, amongst others.
Action Oriented – Enjoys working hard and working towards stretch goals; able to act and react as necessary, even if limited information is available.
International – Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills; proven ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and backgrounds. Multilingual is a plus.
Communications and Marketing experience is a plus
Non-Profit Networking – ability to build an extensive personal/professional network in the nonprofit sector.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
High level of initiative and follow-through.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Comfort and collegiality with working on a small team.
Event planning experience a plus
