Human Resources Coordinator – Vision House – Renton, WA

Vision House is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit CHRISTIAN transitional housing program for homeless single mothers and their children, and for homeless single men recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Vision House has locations in the Renton Highlands and in Shoreline, Washington. This position will be located at our main offices in Renton.

Reports to: InterimExecutive Director

Classification: Full time, non-exempt

Rate of Pay: DOE + benefits

This position is responsible for coordinating the overall Human Resources services and policies for the organization as well as supporting the administrative functions of Vision House.

Key Responsibilities:

Personnel Administration

• Hiring Life Cycle

o Recruiting (advertising and screening)

o Interviewing

o Applicant correspondence

o New Hire orientation, documentation and personality indicator tests

o Exit interviews

• Support performance management and improvement systems

• Ensure compliance of all state and federal regulatory concerns

• Maintain adherence to employment laws when applicable

• Policy review and development and documentation

• Personnel file and HRIS maintenance

• Consult with and assist staff and managers with job-related concerns, internal complaints, disciplinary actions, etc. while ensuring equitable and consistent application of company policies.

• Confidential and medical employee files

• Benefits administration: medical, dental and vision

• Employment security administration

• L & I claims administration

Administrative Support

• Provide back-up receptionist support

• Assist in the preparation and execution of hospitality activities/social gatherings for the organization.

• Edit correspondence, flyers, newsletters, brochures, form

• Coordinate with Administrative Coordinator to provide fundraising, program and hospitality support

• Special projects as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

-Human resources generalist experience – 2 years preferred

-2+ years of administrative experience

-BA degree preferred

-Strong skills in all Microsoft Office products

-Excellent grammatical, editing, and proofreading skills

-Resourceful nature

-Confident demeanor

-Positive attitude

-Heart to serve

-Strong attention to detail and ability to see the big picture

-Experience with HRIS system a plus

-Reads, speaks, understands and writes proficiently in English.

-Works independently and is self-directed.

-Effective presentation skills.

-Works with initiative, energy and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.

-Problem-solves with creativity and ingenuity.

-Driver’s license with the State of Washington.
