Grants Administrator – Scion Nonprofit Staffing – San Francisco, CA

Scion Nonprofit Staffing (www.scionnonprofitstaffing.com) has been engaged to conduct the search for a Grants Administrator for our client, a well-known public health nonprofit organization in San Francisco, CA. The organization works to enrich communities through various commercial media outlets. This is a contract role for a minimum 6-week duration

RESPONSIBILITIES
Contracts & Grants Management Services:

Responsible for administrative oversight and management of all projects assigned as part of a designated portfolio using best practices and independent judgment.
Review simple and complex solicitations and prepare proposal responses, bids, and contract or grant modifications with assistance of project teams.
Develop negotiation strategies to include the negotiation of terms and conditions of awards, scope of work, budget, etc.
Create and monitor compliance and evaluation criteria, as well as reporting requirements.

Analyze contract or grant requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures.
Assist in the preparation, management and monitoring of project expenditures, ensuring budgetary integrity and control.
Oversee and monitor subcontracts/subrecipients and all deliverables.
Prepare notes, reports and other documents for monitoring and reporting activities, as required, to ensure compliance with funding or other applicable regulations, or as directed.
Serve as the liaison between the Project Director or Principal Investigator and the Contracting or Funding Agency.
Liaise with law, finance and business teams for resolution of contract or grant issues and disputes, should they arise.

Accounts Payable

Responsible for the accurate and timely processing (coding) of vendor and employee expense payments
Facilitate internal authorization of invoices
Act as the central point of contact internally as well as for external parties for AP inquiries or refer them to fiscal intermediary PHFE
Research and resolve account discrepancies
Travel advances and reimbursements
Credit card expense coding monthly

Customer Service and Outreach:

Provide outstanding customer service through cultivation of enduring relationships with all external and internal customers, as well as solution-focused client assistance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university, or five years of related experience and/or training.
Advanced degree (such as a Master’s in Public Health or a Master’s in Public Administration or Health Administration) highly desirable.
Experience with Federal Grants such as those released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Institutes of Health, and/or the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention is also highly desirable.
CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM or equivalent highly desirable

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, effectively delegate and work under pressure.
Requires flexibility in scheduling (Monday through Friday) and work hours including the ability to attend early morning and after hours meetings.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
Experience in and understanding of public health preferred.
A positive, high-energy, warm, friendly, and self-motivated attitude.

COMPENSATION
$25-30/hour.
