Job Title: Events Manager
Job Summary: Support development efforts by managing Full Life’s special events and overseeing support staff.
Reports To: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Exempt

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of the job:
Manages all event projects, including serving as primary staff liaison for the Young Professional Committee for its Beer for a Cause event, and the annual benefit breakfast event chaired by the board;
Manages and works with the development team’s office assistant, providing direction as needed;
Oversees, supports and manages all aspects of the annual benefit breakfast including sponsor solicitation and follow-up, table captain recruitment and follow-up, meeting planning, collateral development, video screening, planning and execution of new video every year, VIP gifts, registration, event messaging and script writing/talking points, post-event acknowledgements, and other duties as assigned;
Oversees, supports and manages all aspects of the Beer for a Cause event including sponsor solicitation and follow-up, raffle prize solicitation and follow-up, committee meeting planning, collateral development, VIP gifts, event logistics, post-event acknowledgements, and other duties as assigned;
Must keep accurate records of all aspects of the event in electronic and hard files;
Oversee all volunteer support while working with the volunteer department in the planning and execution of all development activities including (but not limited to) benefit breakfast, young leadership event, photography, special donor events;
Must have a positive demeanor and be able to interact with diverse groups such as donors, volunteers and business people. Must project a professional manner and appearance appropriate to the audience;
Maintain excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with poise, confidence and professionalism to diverse communities;
Be able to exercise excellent judgment, accept responsibility, and give careful attention to details;
Must be skilled in multiple software programs and be willing to learn donor software systems;
Be able to work under stress and be flexible where there are high expectations for meeting tight deadlines and for producing work that is accurate and excellent in quality;
Must develop working knowledge about Full Life Care programs, its impact on the clients and families and caregivers;
Develop community connections to continue to grow the board and young professionals committee;
Create new social networking avenues to widen base of potential donations, community outreach, and volunteerism (such as Facebook and Twitter) for Full Life Care;
Brainstorm and research new ideas for potential fundraising activities;
Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed;
Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance;

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS of the job:
Performs and completes other duties as assigned by supervisor;

Physical Requirements Needed to perform the Duties of the job:
Must be able to lift up to 25lbs;

Educational Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:
Three to five years’ experience in a related field. The candidate should have both education and established professional experience;
Working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop a plus;
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business development or a related field.
