Director of Talent & Recruitment – Great Oaks Charter Schools – New York, NY

Position Summary
The Director of Talent & Recruitment will strategically drive teacher, staff and AmeriCorp member recruitment efforts for school locations and the network office. With the support of the Chief Talent Officer, the Director of Talent & Recruitment will assist in building Great Oaks into a talent destination, cultivating a culture that empowers and develops staff, and accelerating progress toward being a more just, inclusive, and equitable organization. The Director of Talent & Recruitment reports to the Chief Talent Officer and works closely with other members of the talent team to guide the overall recruitment strategy.

Primary Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition
Responsible for overseeing the recruitment of 310 new AmeriCorps members each year
Create and implement a sourcing strategy that meets current staffing needs and builds a pipeline for future roles ensuring quality, diversity, cost effectiveness and speed
Full responsibility for managing the talent acquisition process from beginning to end and responsible for creating quality candidate pool to ensure highest caliber hires for all level Great Oaks roles
Oversee targeted outreach events to promote the Great Oaks brand and network with potential candidates at leading universities and other partner organizations
Hands-on role in all aspects of the selection of candidates, to ensure the proper assessment of candidate quality, skills and cultural alignment
Optimize applicant tracking process and systems to ensure compliance, consistency, and best practice to maintain the accuracy and integrity of data.
Complete weekly report on recruitment progress for the Chief Talent Officer

Talent Retention
Maintains figures on turnover, recruitment and employee retention supporting development, measurement, and ongoing evaluation of efforts to ensure success and continuous improvement
Develop and manage an alumni database for AmeriCorps AmeriCorp members as a potential network for branding and recruitment
Develop and foster strong relationships/partnerships with leaders across the organization; meet with leaders to assess recruiting progress, future hiring plans, obstacles and challenges, and collaborate on recruiting activities and strategies
Collaborate with the Chief Talent Officer on cross-functional initiatives to foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity by ensuring talent acquisition strategies fully support key operational initiatives including:
Identification and promotion of internal staff members
Career development and career-pathing strategies for AmeriCorp members

Recruitment Marketing
Manage relationships with marketing consultants to build a comprehensive marketing strategy for the GO Foundation and GO schools that yields results in recruitment
Work with our website developer to manage the Great Oaks website and social media platforms, ensuring that content is up to date and optimized for recruitment efforts

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
3+ years of relevant experience required
Prior experience working in a Charter School or non-profit environment is a preferred

Experience:
Experience using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience working with JobVite and GreenHouse a plus
Demonstrated strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, interact with employees at every level and maintain sensitive information in a confidential and discreet manner.
