Development Associate – American Conservatory Theater – San Francisco, CA

American Conservtory Theater, one of the country’s leading regional theaters and actor training institutions, seeks individual to join busy fundraising team.

Working under the direction of Director of Development, the Associate processes all contributions, provides comprehensive donor analysis and reporting, and ensures all donors are acknowledged and recognized in an accurate, timely fashion. The Associate contributes directly to the development of the relationships with donors by ensuring prompt and accurate processing of gifts and acknowledgements, flagging opportunities or concerns, and at times dealing directly with the donor to complete payment of their gift. As a key member of the Development team, the Associate will work independently to manage the workload according to priority and will make a positive contribution to the team. Specific responsibilities include:

Gift Processing

Processes all contributions; inputs pledges; maintains and updates donor records; prepares journal entries; tracks in-kind donations.

Database Management

Maintain donor confidentially and ensures compliance with related policies

Prepares monthly income reports and works with the Finance department to reconcile income to general ledger.

Acts as liaison with IT for database management

Explores capabilities of donor management system and shares this knowledge with staff

Lead special database projects

Reporting and Analysis

Generates queries for analysis, projections, reports and mailing lists for department members and trains staff members on Audience View.

Represents the development department during annual audit as primary point person. Prepares schedules and other documentation for the annual audit.

Generates data for grant proposals and reporting

Assists with prospect management by providing high quality research and analysis

Provide analytical donor data and reporting for development staff upon request.

Acknowledgements

Assists with donor communications, including, but not limited to, pledge reminders and acknowledgments

Provides staff support for acknowledgments at all levels and ensures donors are acknowledged in a timely manner.

Donor Recognition

Ensures accurate donor recognition on all materials

The ideal candidate will have two years of related work experience, preferably in a non-profit organization. Specific requirements include: Knowledge of database systems, as well as computer literacy with Microsoft business products (Excel, Word) Demonstrated ability to work under pressure of strict deadlines. Requires an extraordinary degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Previous Audience View experience a plus. Proven discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
