Community Services Manager – Asian Health Services HR Dept – Oakland, CA

Asian Health Services is seeking a dynamic, experienced program manager to help lead our Community Services department. The Community Services Manager provides direct program oversight to the following units:

– Youth Program: Provides reproductive health counseling, clinical services, and youth programming to teens and young people;

– Banteay Srei: Provides case management, trainings, and other services to young Southeast Asian women at risk of or currently experiencing sexual exploitation’

– Community Liaison Unit: promotes community awareness of health care services, resources, and education to low-income immigrants and refugees’

– HIV/AIDS Program: provides community outreach, HIV Testing, and HIV patient support and advocacy’

– Language and Cultural Access Program : provides limited English speaking communities with culturally appropriate, professional oral interpretation and written translation services.

Key areas of responsibility include direct supervision and team development of mid-level managers and coordinators; program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation; budget development and monitoring; and grantwriting.

This position requires passion for and knowledge of the cultural, socioeconomic, and political factors affecting health and health education in the immigrant and refugee Asian communities and a commitment to health advocacy for the Asian and Pacific Islander communities. Minimum qualifications include:

– Master’s degree in relevant field (health education, nutrition, health, social scients)

– At least two years experience with program development and implementation

– At least three years supervisory experience

– Two years experience with contracts, budgeting and/or grantwriting

– Demonstrated excellent communication, team-building, and program administration skills.
