Rate of Pay: $35,000/year
Status: Full-time, salaried with benefits

Executive Summary:
The Street Trust is a non-profit membership organization with a mission to advocate for healthy and thriving communities where it is safe and easy for people to bike, walk and ride public transit.

The Membership and Communications Manager is responsible for sustaining and growing The Street Trust’s capacity for advocacy and education through membership engagement and individual giving. They are a key member of the development, programs, and communications teams charged with working collaboratively across teams to engage individuals in The Street Trust’s mission as donors, volunteers, program participants, and advocates.

Responsibilities:
Manage individual membership and individual and business donor acknowledgements and fulfillment processes including maintenance of donor communications platforms and donation forms, defining a positive user experience. Manage regular workplace giving campaigns, re-affiliation, and strategies to increase gifts. (40%)
Maintain and manage comprehensive donor records in our Salesforce database and coordinate with our finance staff in regular donation and record reconciliation. (15%)
Coordinate and manage regular phone banks, volunteer nights, membership outreach events, and membership drives. Respond to invitations to participate in outreach events and coordinate staff and volunteers to represent The Street Trust. Serve as a The Street Trust ambassador at events, commute clinics, rides, etc. Serve as point person for incoming customer service requests. (20%)
Working closely with the Communications Director, craft The Street Trust communications (email, social media, collateral) to support The Street Trust fundraising, member engagement, events, and programs including supporting the Bike More Challenge, Walk + Roll to School, fundraising events, etc. (25%)

Accountabilities:
Communication
Develop robust communication model to actively engage membership base in group settings as well as on an individual basis. Leverage two-way communication model to develop knowledge of constituents and to create a remarkable customer orientation. Work to elevate and leverage The Street Trust’s brand identity.

Fundraising
Work with Development Director, Events and Programs Director, and other staff to cultivate new donors and provide stewardship of existing donors. Provide excellent customer service for existing donors and seek out opportunities to invite new individuals to engage with The Street Trust as donors.

Membership Development
Actively engage membership base in an effort to understand needs and prioritize issues. Implement plans to increase the overall size of individual and business membership base to gain more voices and influence. Activate membership base to increase political influence. Find new ways to provide meaningful value for members.

Fiscal Management
Monitor appropriate financial measures including: membership retention, membership gains, and development program expenses.

Team Leadership
Provide strong leadership and management to volunteers and possibly seasonal interns. Foster collaborative, mission-driven environment that engages, challenges, and supports team members in reaching inspired levels of performance.

Work proactively to address inequities and build an internal and external culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Desired Skills & Experience:
Previous work or volunteer experience in development, marketing, public relations, customer service, or communications
Ability to use technology to achieve goals, including experience with complex CRM databases; social marketing sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; broadcast email services, and other tools to engage various demographic populations.
Knowledge of Macintosh OS, Google Apps, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office suite is strongly desired.
Experience in membership-based organizations and/or campaigns preferred.
Strong writing skills.
