Residential Program Manager – San Francisco SafeHouse – San Francisco, CA

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Residential Program Manager is responsible for the day-to-day direct services programming of San Francisco SafeHouse. The Residential Program Manager will work closely with the Executive Director as SafeHouse goes through strategic planning next year with an eye towards expanded services beyond residential for homeless women escaping prostitution. This position requires flexibility including being on call for emergencies and working some late nights and weekends. This position reports to the Executive Director.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Leadership and Management (50%)

Ensure safe operation of the residential facility by developing, maintaining and ensuring that everyone follows program policies and procedures
Assist the Executive Director in the development and management of the program budget; ensure that the program operates within budgetary guidelines
Ensure that all contract goals and deliverables are met in a timely manner
Facilitate Residential Counselor monthly meetings and weekly client review meetings
Ensure that the required program reports are completed in an accurate and timely manner and submitted to the Executive Director for review, approval and submission
Represent SafeHouse at community coalitions, events and with funders; actively participate on task forces working on issues of affordable housing, prostitution, and sex trafficking
Assist with fundraising by speaking at events about SafeHouse’s direct services, sharing our successes, providing the Executive Director with data and statistics, etc.
Work with the Executive Director in preparing and planning for the annual strategic planning retreat and possible expansion of services

Supervisory Responsibilities (35%)

Supervise the entire residential direct services team which includes 2 Case Managers and 8 Residential Counselors; assist Executive Director with hiring, coach and train staff as appropriate and necessary
Review and approve time sheets on a bi-weekly basis and approve employee reimbursements as appropriate
Coordinate monthly house coverage schedule

Client Support Services (15%)

Assist with screening calls for potential new residents and provide back-up house coverage for direct services staff
Provide crisis intervention and management as appropriate and needed
Facilitate groups; annual retreat and wellness activities for SafeHouse clients and waiting list participants on topics such as wellness, money management, life skills, housing, domestic violence, etc.
Determine eligibility for new residents in collaboration with Case Managers
Share on-call responsibilities with other staff, which includes being on call for a week each month

Qualifications:

Fluency in English and bilingual in Spanish or Cantonese bilingual highly preferred but not required
Master’s degree in social work, policy, or a related field required
At least 3-5 years of experience supervising paid, full-time staff
Significant relevant direct service experience working directly with vulnerable populations coming from backgrounds of prostitution, sex trafficking, sexual assault and/or domestic violence through using trauma-informed, cultural competency and harm-reduction models
Experience working with budgets, grant reporting and program compliance
Ability to work some weekends and occasional major holidays
Have a valid license with a clean driving record and regular access to a vehicle

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to inspire others and negotiate conflict with finesse
Have outstanding team-building and leadership skills with the ability to think ahead in making social change
