Project Lead – InnovateEDU – Brooklyn, NY

InnovateEDU is an educational nonprofit that brings together students, teachers, and technology companies to re-imagine education by creating new products and models that serve, inform, and enhance teaching and learning, with the mission of closing the achievement gap. InnovateEDU works with the Brooklyn Laboratory Charter School in downtown Brooklyn to provide next generation educational services and establish an accelerator program for K-12 learning technology at the school.

InnovateEDU is seeking a driven individual to serve as Project Lead to oversee the organization’s education technology projects and operations as the organization expands.

Responsibilities

Monitor a range of projects and brief the Executive Director on the status of open and emerging issues and new developments;
Participate in several ecosystem forums including those related to HR, data, and quarterly budget meetings;
Assist the Executive Director by monitoring progress with respect to the mission and objectives;
Prepare reports for partner schools and as required by InnovateEDU’s funders (both government agencies and private foundations);
Record finances and prepare progress reports in accordance with donor specifications;
Lead efforts to ensure organizational policies and procedures are in place, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies;
Collaborate with the Executive Director to manage daily activities and priorities, including delegating meetings and assignments.
Monitor emails and respond to personnel inquiries regarding financial and operational matters;
Work with the Executive Director to coordinate the onboarding of new staff and fellows;

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred);
At least five years of experience in project management, preferably related to non-profits, education, and/or youth development;
Experience managing programs funded by New York City government agencies and ensuring compliance with funder requirements; Experience managing Department of Youth and Community Development projects preferred;
Excellent planning, scheduling, cost management, organizational, and prioritization skills;
Ability to multi-task, shift priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment; strong attention to detail;
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
Highly self-motivated and proactive with ability to work both with minimal supervision and as part of a team;
A sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines;
Flexibility in the face of change;
Strong work ethic, a “can do” attitude, and a willingness to go above and beyond required duties;
Eagerness to be creative and take initiative on new projects and ideas;
Ability to handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities by coordinating and prioritizing long-term projects while taking care of immediate demands;
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Apps
