Financial Empowerment AmeriCorps – Seattle – United Way of King County

The Program and the Impact:
United Way’s Free Tax Preparation Campaign is an anti-poverty movement embedded in a network of social service and governmental partners across King County. In 2016, the program operated 24 locations and leveraged the skills and talents of 900 volunteers to prepare 21,750 tax returns. This secured $29.1 million in refunds for low income families and individuals. Check out this video to learn more about it!
