Reporting to the Director of Student Relations, the Associate Director will be responsible for managing resources, administrative processes, priorities, and workflow to ensure that the goals and objectives of the student recruitment program are accomplished. S/he will be an effective communicator and have strong skills in planning, budgeting, and evaluating projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

Working closely with the Director, define and manage the priorities and workflow for the Student Relations team. Lead day-to-day team operations, keeping team members on track to meet commitments.
Drive the team’s recruitment outreach campaigns (students, educators, and organizations nationwide) to meet expectations of quality, budget, delivery timelines, and strategic results.
Perform need assessments to identify skill sets and resources needed for each project. Analyze and evaluate projects upon completion for efficiencies and overall effectiveness.
Develop and maintain effective relationships across internal teams and external vendors, being proactive with communications to maintain a clear understanding of expectations, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and progress.
Develop subject matter expertise in student recruitment and pursue/lead ongoing innovation in finding new student data sources, developing new content, and expanding data analytics and student support.
Assist with monitoring Student Relations budget and expenditures.
Participate in other QuestBridge and Student Relations initiatives such as; Quest Scholar Network programming, annual conferences, calling campaigns, application reading, innovation groups, etc.
Perform other administrative and miscellaneous tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of full-time professional experience.
Passion for and knowledge of issues in education, ideally relating to access to higher education.
Demonstrated success in overseeing programs while maintaining effective working relationships with key managers and outside constituents.
Process oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to understand and communicate complex processes in a straightforward way.
Strong comfort with technology and data, with the ability to evaluate and improve current operations.
Excellent writing/editing and oral communication skills.
Heightened sensitivity to students from diverse backgrounds and a strong track record of handling sensitive personal information and situations.

Preferred:

Advanced skills with Excel (e.g., modeling, pivot tables, nested IF statements), experience with databases and database design, and background in statistical analysis.
Knowledge of HTML and SLATE.
Experience with marketing and/or communications, in both print and online/social media contexts.
Experience working with Quest’s target population.
