Webmaster / Systems Administrator – Children & Nature Network – Minneapolis, MN

The Children and Nature Network (C&NN) is seeking an experienced professional to serve as Webmaster/Systems Administrator (WSA). The Webmaster/Systems Administrator reports directly to the Director of Marketing and Communications and also takes assignments from the Executive Director from time to time. The WSA works with the communications team including the Social Media Manager, the Editor in Chief and various marketing and communications contractors.

This is a full-time, contract position. C&NN is a virtual organization and the chosen applicant may work from anywhere, providing his/her own workspace and materials, computer, internet access and phone. The ideal candidate has a passion for the mission of connecting children to nature and the skills and experience to provide senior level planning, scheduling, and implementaion.

Responsibilities

The WSA is responsible for implementing online marketing and communication for the organization. Related tasks include developing, maintaining, and updating C&NN’s website, programming new pages for campaigns and initiatives, creation of website landing pages, designing drafting and deploying email campaigns and working with the communications team to expand the organization’s visibility. Responsibilities include reviewing and implementing systems and protocols for tracking, analyzing and evaluating online efforts through Google Analytics.

WSA tasks include reviewing, evaluating, setting-up and maintaining online collaboration and productivity tools for the organization including Google Apps, Google Docs, Google Drive and Asana. WSA also provides technical support for webinars and conference calls and staff training in the organization’s collaborative working environments.

Critical Attributes

3-5 years of experience as a web developer or webmaster, including experience with systems analysis and design

Effective communication skills: written, verbal, and interpersonal, including presentation skills

Proficient in WordPress, MailChimp
Acquainted with open source CMS packages
Proficient in industry standard website development
Proficient in graphic production (e.g. Photoshop) and related tools
Familiar with online conferencing applications (GoToWebinar, AnyMeeting)
Familiar with project collaboration software tools (Google Drive, Google Docs, Asana)

Job Requirements

Website Management and Maintenance

Responsible for ensuring that all online channels are fully functional and operating 24/7

Design and Development

C&NN Web site
Newsletters and ecommunication campaigns
Registration tools for events and campaigns
Branding and online presence for new campaigns and initiatives

Facilitation and Training

Set-up and provide technical support for webinars and conference calls
Train staff in the use of collaboration and productivity tools and systems

Planning and Project Management

Keeps the organization current on emergent technology and social marketing/social media strategies.
Coordinates input from Founding Director, Board of Directors, and advisors.
Implements the organizations ecommunication plan, vision, goals, and strategies.
