Site Coordinator – CYC (Community Youth Center) – San Francisco, CA

Position: Site Coordinator

Salary: $18 – $22 per hour (6 hours per day)

Reports to: Project Manager (Education Component – Elementary School)

Status: Exempt (School Year Schedule)

Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) provides education, leadership development, behavioral health, intervention, community outreach/special projects, and workforce development services to youth and their families in San Francisco community. CYC envisions empowering young people to reach their highest potential as individuals and to develop a positive self/cultural identity. Our mission is “to empower and strengthen high-need Asian youth and their families by providing comprehensive youth development through education, employment training, advocacy, and other supportive services.”

Our elementary school After School Program (ASP) is under the Education Component and runs daily from Monday thru Friday. The program is designed to support elementary school youth in a very diverse community with academic, social and emotional development while incorporating extracurricular activities to enhance the growth of our participants and staff. Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Site Coordinator will administer the after school program as well as serve as a liaison among the school’s administrative staff and principal, front line Program Leaders and our agency.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Hire, train, develop and supervise Program Leaders, and high school youth interns
Facilitate and coordinate appropriate training and workshops for program staff
Create/coordinate calendar of upcoming after school events
Develop appropriate youth development curriculum for program
Maintain a good representation of agency at the elementary school site (work closely with Principal, Academic Liaison, Day time teachers, PTO, and community partners)
Attend Principal meetings and Parent Success Team Meetings if needed
Coordinate activities such as clubs, field trips, and community service opportunities
Implement, lead and create a safe and structured environment for youth and staff
Maintain close contact with parents/ guardians involved with youth participant
Prepare appropriate documentation and reports to be in compliance with agency (input data and track attendance of youth participants)
Coordinate and collaborate successful and seamless integration of families into the program
Manage all program grant requirements
Perform all other duties as assigned by Management

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in related fields
Ability to work in partnership with elementary school youth, high school youth volunteers, teachers, and parents
Commitment and passion to promoting youth development
At least 2 years experience working with elementary school aged children and knowledge in youth development framework
Demonstrate clear and effective facilitation skills
Experience and ability working with diverse populations of youth
Have exceptional organization skills
Ability to juggle multiple tasks with competing timelines
Attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills
Competency with PC-based software including Microsoft Office and various Adobe software
Bilingual/bicultural in another language a plus (Cantonese preferred)
Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
Ability to lift 50 lbs
