Senior Systems Administrator – YMCA of San Francisco

POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for installing, supporting and maintaining systems at the YMCASF Association office and our branches. First level support will be provided for servers, networking, security and monitoring systems. The SysAdmin will work directly with the Technology Director to develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure the reliable operations of the Enterprise Network and IT infrastructure systems. First level support will also include branch specific systems, including community WiFi and VoIP telecom. Second level support will be provided for desktop & laptops hardware, office suite software and desktop support systems. SysAdmin will analyze technical issues, research and evaluate options, exercise independent judgment, take consultation where necessary, implement solutions that adhere to best practices and verify problem resolution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Availability: Regular office hours, occasional after hour support for branches
Related Experience: 3-5 years’ experience in position or technical equivalent. Strong customer service skills.
Language Skills: Fluent English, reading and writing. Ability to develop guidelines and processes. Clear documentation in work order tickets.
Licenses & Certifications: Preferred: A+, Network+, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, PMP
Specialized Skills:
Required: Windows Desktop and Server OS, Active Directory, Group Policies, Ethernet Networks, Broadband Networks, MS Office Suite, Anti-virus and security software, basic server hardware, helpdesk systems
Preferred: VoIP, WAN, MPLS, Aruba Networks, linux, basic firewall, Exchange, VPN, VMWare, PCI compliance

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Analyze problems, research and evaluate options, exercise independent judgment, implement best solution and verify resolution
Provide first level support for servers, networking, security and monitoring systems.
Provide first level support for branch specific systems, including community WiFi and VoIP phone system.
Provide second level support for desktop & laptops hardware, office suite software and desktop support systems.
Provide supervisory role in absence of Technology Directory
Recommend purchases of network equipment and infrastructure monitoring tools. Evaluate emerging technologies.
Performed non-manual tasks directly related to management policies or business operations of Y members.
Participate in the development and implement of processes and procedures to ensure the reliable operations of the Enterprise Network and IT infrastructure systems.
Install applications and perform upgrades using system implementation process with sufficient documentation for audit and maintenance.
Create training materials, if necessary and provide training.
Ability to work independently but knows when to ask for assistance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Capable of lifting 30 lbs. Ability to climb a ladder.
You must have the physical, visual, and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
All employees working with the YMCA are considered to have supervisory or disciplinary action relationship over minors. Fingerprints will be taken upon commencement of employment and will be submitted to the Association Office human resources department prior to beginning the first day of work.
