Our Team:

Our team includes a staff of 20 with an average tenure of 10-years and a governing board of 16 Directors recruited with an emphasis on diversity of skills and interests to assist in advancing the HIP Housing mission.
Position Profile:

The Self-Sufficiency Program provides housing and support services to low-income heads of households as they undergo job training and achieve employment that will lead to economic self-reliance.

The Self-Sufficiency Director is responsible for managing all facets of the Program including supervising staff, developing community partnerships, overseeing program policies and providing case management services.

Job Responsibilities:

Case Management

Provide case management services to participants in the program through an office or home visit.
Work with referral agencies to identify eligible participants and assess capacity for achieving employment.
Interview and select candidates for consideration by Selection Committee.
Assess needs, establish case plan with timeline for achieving specific goals and tasks.
Connect residents with community resources to meet urgent needs, address barriers and strengthen participant skills and ability to continue their progress.
Determine clients’ continued involvement with program and possible termination.
Coordinate clients’ tenancy with HIP Housing’s staff.
Coordinate rental payment requests with HIP Housing’s Accounting Manager.

Life-skills Workshops

Plan and implement monthly workshops for participants in the program.
Facilitate workshops.
Coordinate childcare for workshops.

Outreach

Provide ongoing outreach to community referral agencies.
Establish and maintain working relationships with Property Managers and Landlords.
Participate in funding hearings and site visits as necessary.
Review funding applications and contracts.
Compile reports for funders.

Supervision

Provide supervision and support to SSP Intake Specialist & Case Manager & Interns
Provide supervision and support to SSP Program

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters of Social Work degree
Two years experience in case management with a low income population.
Experience with program management.
Knowledgeable about parenting skills, conflict mediation and domestic violence.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with other community agencies
Ability to work independently while remaining engaged in a strong, mutually respectful team
Clear, friendly and professional public speaking manner
Excellent writing skills
Willingness to work weekends and/or evenings
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize.
Housing experience a plus.
Must have own vehicle and provide car insurance.

Reports to: Associate Director

Salary and Benefits:

Full-time, exempt position
$65,000 depending upon experience
Excellent benefits package including: PTO, medical, dental, vision and employer profit sharing and matched pension plan (5%)
