Programmer – Analyst – SIAM – Philadelphia, PA

SIAM is looking for a talented, self-motivated, experienced individual to fill the role of programmer-analyst to work with our developers, project sponsors, and end-users to define, design, develop, and launch information systems.

Duties

Assist in the planning, design, and development of new applications and enhancements to existing applications
Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve business systems issues
Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems
Conduct research on hardware and software products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts
Create system design proposals, specifications, mockups, etc. to provide direction to programmers and stake-holders
Light programming as needed
Design, coordinate, and perform testing to ensure quality and end-user satisfaction
Provide orientation and training to end users

Requirements

Working knowledge of programming techniques.
Experience coordinating members with diverse skills to implement projects.
Experience communicating technical detail to both technical and non-technical audiences in writing and verbal presentations.
Experience testing and documenting computer systems.
Bachelor’s degree with a computer science or technical management related major plus two years of relevant experience or equivalent work experience.

Specific Experience that is a plus

Knowledge of .Net programming
Previous experience with databases, SQL, and other MS SQL Server related technologies such as SSRS, SSIS
Knowledge of web content management systems
Knowledge of open source technologies
Experience working at a non-profit organization or society
