IT Manager – GLAAD

As the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, GLAAD is at the forefront of accelerating acceptance to ensure fair, accurate, and inclusive representation that leads to cultural change.
For over 30 years, GLAAD has been a dynamic media force rewriting the script for LGBTQ acceptance. Our work tackles tough issues that shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change.
GLAAD operates with support from foundations, corporations and individuals from every corner of the United States. We pride ourselves on recruiting a highly skilled staff of more than 40 people in multiple offices and managing an annual operating budget in excess of $10 million.
ROLE
The IT Manager has the opportunity to play a critical role in our work by ensuring continual day to day operations of GLAAD’s technological infrastructure while we are in the process of upgrading and moving IT from our Los Angeles office to our New York City headquarters.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Thoroughly understand GLAAD, including its programs, values, and the IT infrastructure necessary to achieve the mission
Provide primary liaison services to our outsourced network support providers and other vendors/contractors as required.
Act as lead technical project manager to ensure all projects are completed on time, on budget, and on spec by interfacing with external vendors and consultants
Ensure 24/7 uptime on all office hardware, software, networks and peripheral equipment by providing systems administration, upgrades and maintenance
Increase staff digital literacy and self sufficiency by providing end-user services and new employee onboarding such as help desk and technical support services
Fully resolve all IT issues by performing root cause analysis and making recommendations based on cutting edge technology best practices
Ensure organizational stability and financial responsibility by practicing asset management for IT hardware, software and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of IT experience, preferably in a non profit environment
Demonstrated knowledge in a wide range of IT areas
Experience with software and SaaS-based systems such as CRM, email marketing and office productivity systems
Experience with standard office hardware including PC, Mac, printers and VOIP
Experience with professional network elements such as LDAP, Active Directory, and cloud-based hosting
Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Ruby, or Powershell

A proven ability to work collaboratively and thoughtfully as part of a committed, integrated team
Willingness to be on-call 24/7 for emergencies
