Housing Program Manager – Anti Recidivism Coalition – Los Angeles, CA

Position Summary

The Housing Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of ARC’s Supportive Housing Initiative in Sylmar, CA – an initiative that provides supportive housing to 20 -25 ARC members: previously incarcerated individuals who have committed to living a drug free, gang free and crime free life and to successfully reentering back into the community. The Program Manager will manage and work closely with other staff on the ARC Supportive Housing team to develop the programming/counseling component of the housing initiative. The Program Manager will be responsible for supervising two Life Skills Coordinators/Case Managers and one Resident Advisor and ensuring that program residents consistently receive general support, education assistance, counseling services and other required support. The Program Manager, along with the Life Skills Coordinators and Resident Advisor, share the responsibility to complete a holistic approach to supporting residents and their success in the program.

Primary Responsibilities

Direct day-to-day operations of the housing program.
Conduct weekly team meetings; supervise, manage and evaluate staff.
Be a role model and encourage a positive, enthusiastic and supportive work environment.
Monitor budgetary expenditures of program.
Oversee program implementation, resident support groups and group meetings coordinated by the collective staff.
Maintain compliance of site-specific programs to meet grant-funded requirements.
Maintain all documentation and data as required by grant funding parameters.
Submit weekly updates and monthly reports to supervisor.
Maintain positive relationships with teaching institutions affiliated with the program to help create learning and training opportunities for program participants.
Maintain partnerships with ally organizations and service providers that can meet the needs of program participants.
Coordinate outreach to residents who express obstacles within the program and/or school/life issues; enlist partner organizations in the community that serve participants if needed.
Provide education, support and referrals to residents about available support if determined to be beyond the scope of the ARC Supportive Housing program.
Attend relevant meetings with community organizations and create awareness about the ARC Supportive Housing Initiative.
Provide individual and group counseling to ARC Supportive Housing Initiative residents on both a formal and informal basis.
Coordinate after hours service support.
Serve as backup on-call at all times and assume primary on-call duties as needed.
Attend all general ARC Supportive Housing Initiative meetings as requested.
Attend ARC staff meetings, organizational gatherings, retreats and conferences as requested.
Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Licensed LCSW, MFT highly preferred.
Licensed eligible professional with a minimum of 4 years experience working with young adults, preferably in the reentry/formerly incarcerated population.
Experience in mental health program settings and knowledge of trauma-focused programs such as CBT and/or EMDR preferred.
Experience supervising staff and collaborating with partner organizations.
Extensive knowledge of community resources and services.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills required.
Computer proficiency in MAC programs, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint database.
Proficiency in database entry and management such as FileMaker Pro and HMIS is a big plus.
Knowledge of the juvenile justice/criminal justice landscape in CA is a plus.
Must have own transportation and a valid CA driver’s license, insurance and registration.

Compensation
