Building Systems Manager – Congregation Beth Elohim – Brooklyn, NY

About Congregation Beth Elohim

Congregation Beth Elohim, founded in 1861, is one of the fastest growing synagogues in New York City. CBE was recently named “one of America’s 25 most vibrant congregations” by Newsweek, which hailed CBE for “quickly adapting to Brooklyn’s exciting, young population.” Open to people from a variety of backgrounds, CBE serves as a hub for members and for the surrounding community. It is a place of worship, dedicated to honoring Jewish traditions, and also a place of learning, a place to socialize, to celebrate, and to actively engage with the world, a synagogue center enriching the Brooklyn Jewish community through study, ritual and acts of loving-kindness.

CBE’s facility consists of two buildings – a Sanctuary and a Temple House. CBE has a membership of over 900 households and the buildings are heavily used by the membership and surrounding community. In recent years, CBE has undertaken critical efforts to restore the physical infrastructure. These restoration efforts, aggregating nearly $3.5 million since 2010, have included replacing the sanctuary roof, restoring historic stained glass windows and installing a new boiler in 2013. CBE expects to undertake future capital projects over the next decade pursuant to the Strategic Plan recently approved by the congregation.

We are a large, dynamic synagogue seeking an individual who is a self-starter and excellent communicator with a proven track record of successfully seeing projects from conception to implementation.
