Office Administrator (20hrs/week) – Center for Grieving Children – Philadelphia, PA

Join a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to serving children and families throughout Philadelphia, PA. The Center for Grieving Children is the only organization located in Philadelphia dedicated exclusively to supporting children and families through the grieving process. The Center provides thoughtful, trauma-informed programming and expertise around grief and grief support. Last year alone, The Center served 1,323 children, 158 caregivers and over 600 front-line professionals. The Center has experienced historic growth in recent years and is positioned to continue this trajectory into the future.

To help us get to the next stage of growth, The Center seeks a creative and highly organized part-time Office Administrator. The Office Administrator will manage general administrative and office duties at The Center’s main offices in East Falls and will also assist with development and communications efforts. This position reports directly to the Director of Development & Communications.

Status: Part Time (20 Hours/week)

Responsibilities

General Office Duties
Manage overall office operations which includes monitoring and ordering supplies, overseeing equipment maintenance, as well as database management
Prepare correspondence, file bill payments and deposits, and organize pertinent administrative documents
Assist program staff as needed and other duties as assigned
Development & Donor Relations
Support all aspects of donor relations, including drafting acknowledgement letters, managing donor database and communicating with funders
Research potential funding sources and support the preparation of funding proposals and reports
Communications & Marketing
Promote the organization’s communications strategy by developing social media, website and e-newsletter content
Assist in The Center’s special events, including planning, event management and follow-up

Qualifications

Highly organized and detail-oriented
Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
Creative thinker willing to learn new skills when necessary
Proficient with computers, especially Microsoft Office (especially Publisher, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
Technologically savvy with knowledge of social media platforms
Other desirable skills and experience include:
photo and video editing
database management
editorial and/or professional writing
Compassion for and ability to work alongside the diverse populations The Center serves
High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred
