Common Sense is seeking a stellar Executive Assistant skilled at communicating with senior executives, funders, and various other high-profile persons to support our Chief Development and Strategy Officer (CDSO) and be a key member of the Development department. The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, superior writing and computer skills, the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and the ability to multitask seamlessly.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Act as Chief Development/Strategy Officer’s right hand person on all matters related to Major Gifts Campaign, Annual Appeal, and nationwide individual giving
Manage and prepare prospect and donor research/background briefs
Prepare Campaign Committee reports, action lists and track progress in SalesForce donor database
Assist in producing campaign materials (case statements, timelines, lists) and scheduling prospective donor meetings
Work daily with CDSO to leverage time and productivity
Organize daily, complex and continuously varying calendar and priorities
Prepare correspondence, memos, PowerPoint presentations, and collateral materials for donor meetings
Coordinate Development weekly staff meeting
Make frequent and sometimes complex travel arrangements

WHAT WE NEED TO SEE ON YOUR RÉSUMÉ

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in high-level Executive Assistant or Development support role
Relevant non-profit fundraising and event planning experience preferred
Ability to communicate effectively with high level donors, executives, and program staff
Superior knowledge of and experience with MS Office., including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as donor databases (preferably Salesforce)
Comfortable with Google suite of software (gmail, Google calendar, Google docs) a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Superb organizational and problem-solving skills with acute attention to detail
Outstanding ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
A very good sense of humor and personal balance.
