Director of Events, Investor Engagement – Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights – New York

THE ROLE:
Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights seeks a Director of Events – Investor Engagement to lead highly visible and critical fundraising events for RFK Compass Investors, a key program under the Business & Human Rights Department at Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. The successful candidate will oversee two annual conferences, including the flagship Summer Investors Conference in Cape Cod; quarterly virtual investors roundtables under the RFK Compass Live brand, and other in-person gatherings and meetings including but not limited to external investor conferences, one-on-one GP/LP meetings, investor networking dinners/cocktails, and other investor-focused activities as needed. This senior role will work with the SVP, Executive Team, key RFK Human Rights Board Members as well as the RFK Compass Advisory Committee to lead and execute on the department’s event and fundraising strategy, manage the execution of such.

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the organizing of the Summer and Fall Investors Conferences including overseeing the invitation and confirmation process for institutional investors and special guests.
Manage the logistics process and necessary support staff related to the conferences and other investor engagement events including prospecting attendees, event registrations, event marketing and materials, contract negotiations with vendors, after-event reports and thank yous.
Manage key relationships critical to the success of all investor engagement events including but not limited to Conference Co-Chairs, RFK President and Executive Team, and select RFK Board and Leadership Council Members.
Manage all event-related budgets and expense reconciliation, including timely turnaround on close-out, vendor payments, and profit analysis.
Develop an event growth strategy and budget for investor engagement that is realistic and sustainable, and which can be adapted for RFK Affiliate organizations in Europe (U.K,. Italy, and Switzerland).
Serve as primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders on all event-related activities including but not limited to RFK Communications and Development Teams, industry networking associations (e.g. TIDE, ACG, AAIM, SuperReturn/Informa, With Intelligence/PensionBridge, NAIC, etc.) and other associations as relevant.
Create an internal events schedule that includes RFK Compass Investor events and external industry events while monitoring competitor event dates, agendas, and featured speakers.
Supervise direct report(s) and support staff to ensure seamless and timely delivery of key milestones related to investor events and communication including efficient internal and external meeting coordination (e.g. agendas, materials, notes and action items), CRM maintenance and tracking, invoicing etc.
Partner with SVP and Program Director on overall department strategy, goals, and implementation including but not limited to investor engagement campaigns, investor and human rights content development, inter-department collaboration and external engagement.

YOUR REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) leading and executing highly curated events – domestic and/or international – that involve executive-level institutional investors, C-suite leaders in private equity firms, elected officials and other dignitaries.
You can build strong relationships with institutional investors and investor associations particularly those in the private equity space and who operate in priority markets such as North America (Canada, U.S. mid-west, south, and central states), Europe and Asia.
Sophisticated people-management experience to coordinate and guide persons with a wide range of personalities, perspectives, and differing opinions.
Strong strategy and systems operations experience particularly with CRM platforms (such as Salesforce or similar), event marketing tools, industry database platforms, and sales pitching.
You have an innovative mind that is focused on action, execution and problem-solving with respect, integrity and confidentiality.
You are able to build efficient and effective processes and have great organizational skills.
