CRLA, Inc. Non-Profit Law Firm is looking for an Administrative Legal Secretary to provide legal and administrative support to attorneys on a day-to-day basis, as well work closely with clients and others within the firm to ensure accurate and timely service of legal documents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Drafts legal correspondence, forms, petitions, pleadings, motions, discovery and informational material. Review and independently compose outgoing correspondence to insure all legal documents/enclosures are in proper processing order. File documents with the court, update changes accordingly with local court rules and procedural requirements for litigation. Maintain calendar schedule with the court and appointments. Assist attorney/s or legal staff with translating and interpreting for non-English speaking clients in attorney-client interviews and correspondence. Enter case and project information into CMS, including time records, calendaring and other information as directed. Maintain of current and archived confidential client files, arranges confidential documents for destruction as directed by the Directing Attorney. Assures that legal deadlines are met in the processing of legal documents, disseminate information from meetings. Performs other administrative/law office duties as directed.
Qualifications:
Three (3)+ years of experience as Legal Secretary or completed paralegal or legal secretary training
Ability to type, read and write in order to proofread and perform initial input and revisions
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Excellent Written and Oral communications skills
Knowledge of law office management
Ability to work collaboratively with all CRLA staff, clients and community organizations
Ability to maintain client confidentiality at all times
Bilingual Spanish required
