IRISH ARTS CENTER SEEKS MARKETING ASSOCIATE

POSITION: Full-time Marketing Associate (position comes with benefits)

WHEN: Starts August/September 2015

DESCRIPTION: Irish Arts Center, the New York-based arts and cultural center dedicated to projecting a dynamic image of Ireland and Irish America for the 21st century, seeks a full-time, early-to-mid-career creative, entrepreneurially-minded, sales and results-driven Marketing Associate with a desire to promote and market Irish and Irish American arts and culture in and to New York City. S/he will have experience working in sales and marketing and events, ideally in a cultural field, and will be a motivated self-starter with big ideas and the enthusiasm, passion and expertise to carry them out. The Associate will work alongside the Director of Communications and External Affairs and the Marketing Manager at the Irish Arts Center as a key part of the Communications team that runs all marketing activities year-round at the Irish Arts Center.

KEY ATTRIBUTES & QUALIFICATIONS OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

· At least 2 years’ experience in a cultural/sales and marketing environment with a track record of sales

· Results-driven, motivated, with excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work independently but also as part of a small, committed team

· Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced, competitive and challenging environment

· Ability to be detail-oriented while also grasping the big picture

· Expertise with a range of computer programs, including the Microsoft Office suite and in particular Excel.

· Knowledge of New York City culture and performing arts desirable and interest in Irish and Irish American culture

· Interest in and experience working in the arts

· Excellent organizational, administrative and computer skills

· Self-starter, able to show initiative, friendly, hospitable, hard-working

· Experience in at least some of the following areas:

o Direct marketing, advertising and sales, ideally with arts or music

o Digital Marketing, Website and Online Content Management

o PR and press management, specifically or ideally with music

o Developing strategic plans to achieve box office targets

o Developing new marketing partnerships with like-minded organizations

o Brand management and Event Management

o Group Sales

o Database and contact management

KEY TASKS:

· Work as part of a team to grow the Irish Arts Center audience, maximizing audience awareness and attendance and box office income at all IAC and partner events.

· Associate has special responsibility for music, comedy, film, visual arts, dance as well as marketing the IAC’s 40+ classes per season.

· Maintain and develop positive relationships with all participating artists, partner venues and media partners to help achieve challenging income and audience development targets,

· Strategize, create, manage, and execute marketing campaigns and promotional events for programs and events assigned to, and ongoing institutional marketing and build partnerships with other venues and organizations across NYC and the US and in Ireland. 4. Analyze and report past and present sales figures, statistics, and patterns, and overseeing ticket inventory.
