Director of Development – Resources to Inspire Students and Educators (RISE, formerly RICH) – Washington, DC

Since 2003, Resources to Inspire Students and Educators (RISE, formerly RICH) has provided high-quality educational resources, such as tutoring, to over 1,000 low-income students of Washington, D.C. Come join the team!

The Director of Development’s responsibilities would be:

Analyze all past and prospective sources of institutional giving, mostly private foundations. In 2014-15, RICH received approximately 40% of its $300,000 income from private foundations.
Prepare LOI’s and grant proposals to any funding prospects approved by the Executive Director. Prepare reports to past funders who require these reports.
Meet with the Executive Director every two weeks to plot fundraising strategy. Otherwise, teleworking will be preferred as RISE has no sizable office to accommodate the person who takes on this position.
