Communications Associate – Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts – Beverly Hills, CA

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (“The Wallis”) seeks a full-time Communications Associate responsible for coordinating and facilitating the institutional and programmatic communications and public relations strategies for The Wallis. The Communications Associate is a key communications team member who will work closely with both marketing and public relations. This role is responsible for organizing press/media events and activities, maintaining online press, helping create and maintain a media and press library, setting media interviews, coordinating press release distribution and press clip collections, helping build an internal press database, helping manage social media messaging, assisting in pitching editorial opportunities to media outlets, creating press kits, contributing to media plans and strategies and drafting press releases and other media communications. The position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and closely collaborates with external public relations consultants.

Candidates should have: a Bachelor’s degree; excellent writing and proofing skills; L.A. based-experience as a publicist or in a similar role, preferably at a non-profit, theater or performing arts center; a list of established local media contacts and relationships; good storytelling skills; and knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other database programs. Must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple tasks concurrently with tight deadlines. A passion for and knowledge of the performing arts is ideal.
