Associate Director, Marketing – New York Philharmonic

Job Title: Associate Director, Marketing Classification Exempt Department: Marketing Reports to: Director of Marketing

Create and direct single ticket marketing strategies and campaigns for all ticketed concerts. Oversee single ticket promotions and partnerships. Direct special projects and manage select marketing partnerships.

RESPONSIBILITES

1. Develop single ticket marketing plans per concert, and organize the team’s efforts around achieving single ticket goals. Devise and execute single ticket marketing efforts including the following channels: direct mail, radio, TV, print, online (SEM, digital advertising, etc.) email, grassroots outreach, and social media;

2. Coordinate with Communications, Publications and Digital departments as appropriate for concert announcement and marketing support efforts;

3. Together with the Director of Marketing coordinate with outside marketing partners and vendors to negotiate and execute annual contracts related to printing, mailing, advertising and media buying: manage relationships with media vendors; oversee and manage the Digital Agency relationship; manage creative agency for subscription concert campaign consistency;

4. Form and manage strategic marketing partnerships that have wide reach and breadth, such as TV, radio, or other media partners; initiate and oversee the implementation of promotional partnerships with area arts and culture organizations and other institutions;

5. Participate in the annual analysis and determination of single ticket pricing, in the context of subscription season pricing;

6. Participate in ongoing single ticket dynamic pricing and inventory management efforts, in coordination with the Customer Relations and Marketing Director;

7. Work with Director, Relationship Marketing to develop strategy for single ticket retention programs aimed at increasing attendance frequency ;

8. Oversee design and production of single ticket collateral and advertising materials;

9. Direct and implement special projects, concerts or events as determined by Director of Marketing or VP of Marketing;

10. Oversee production of video assets (ad trailers, performance videos, etc. ) in support of concert sales, ensuring quality levels and brand standards;

11. Assist with annual budgeting of both expense and revenue; manage expenses and forecast as necessary;

12. Miscellaneous duties as required.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field with 5-7 years’ experience in marketing including CRM marketing experience; Strong written and verbal communication skills; solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with varying personalities; creative thinker with strategic data-driven marketing mindset

And strong understanding of Digital Marketing/Advertising including social media; ability to be flexible, facile at shifting and pivoting tactics as necessary; facility with reporting and analysis of sales data; strong MS Office and spreadsheet skills; Tessitura knowledge preferred; excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented approach; knowledge of classical music and other music genres preferred.
