Fundraising Manager – White Center Community Development Association – Seattle, WA

The Fundraising Manager is a part-time position (30 hours per week) with the White Center Community Development Association (WCCDA). The position may become full-time as funding allows. This position is responsible for implementing comprehensive development strategies to sustain overall programs and services of the WCCDA, including general operations.

Position/Classification: Part-time, Permanent, Program Director

Reports to: Executive Director

Customers: WCCDA board, staff and partner agencies, prospective funders and donors, other stakeholders

Essential Job Functions:

Develop and implement plans to attract prospective donors, foundations and government funds.
Work closely with Executive Director and program staff to write and prepare grant proposals to meet funding needs of the agency.
Maintain all donor and fund development records.
Coordinate all fundraising events.
Solicit corporate sponsorships and steward relationships with corporate partners for annual community events and annual fundraising event.
Work closely with agency leadership to develop and implement monthly newsletters, annual reports, fundraising materials, and update social media.

Manage and supervise relevant vendor contracts and services.

Manage press releases and announcements.
Work closely with WCCDA staff and White Center Promise partners to accurately tell the WCCDA and WCP stories.
Work closely with relevant staff to ensure funder reports are submitted as required.
Prepare reports for Board and Executive Director as required.
Attend WCCDA Board meetings and appropriate committees as necessary.
Complete other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of four years progressively responsible development experience.
Demonstrated accountability to fundraising goals.
Strong writing and storytelling skills.
Experience securing sponsorships.
Computer proficiency and familiarity with donor databases.
A strong relationship to the Puget Sound community is preferred.
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Solid understanding of budget management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher), basic design/layout software, and WordPress.
Strong project management skills, and experience managing vendors and contractors.

Commitment and ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents and partners across multiple programs, functions, and organizations, to solicit and incorporate feedback.
Experience in designing and developing content for print, social media, and electronic media.

Commitment to using an anti-racist lens in all work.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, display initiative, and exercise discretion and mature judgment.
Must be flexible and able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, when necessary.

Education & Experience

WCCDA seeks candidates with knowledge in fund development and marketing at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree plus four years of experience. Familiarity with White Center, non-profits, and education and human services work is desired. However, any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required qualifications and skills set will be considered.

Pay Rate: $30 per hour.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read, speak, stand, walk, sit and use a computer keyboard and monitor. Some heavy lifting and physical labor is required during special events. This position requires occasional travel to meetings and conferences.
