Financial Controller – Federation of American Scientists – Washington, DC

The Federation of American Scientists (FAS) (www.fas.org) has an opening starting in July for a dynamic, detailed-oriented, highly organized person to serve as the organization’s Financial Controller. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, grants and contracts management, accounting services, reconciliations of revenues and expenses, internal and external financial controls, liaison to the external auditing firm, and service to program staff in providing timely profit and loss reports.

FAS works to provide science-based analysis of and solutions to protect against catastrophic threats to national and international security. FAS was founded in 1945 by many of the Manhattan Project scientists who wanted to prevent nuclear war. It is one of the longest serving organizations in the world dedicated to reducing nuclear and other catastrophic threats as well as advocating for responsible government classification and secrecy policies that serve the public’s interest.
