Title: Education Program and Marketing Assistant

Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (BPSI) is a post-graduate, non-profit, volunteer membership organization. Our 12,000 SF, newly renovated building located in Newton Centre includes classrooms, Library and archives, and holds evening seminars, meetings, and programs for the public and members.

Purpose / Role: As part of a collaborative team, the Education Program and Marketing provides the primary administrative support for the diverse range of BPSI’s education, membership, and public programming. The Education Program and Marketing Assistant provides the first-line welcoming interface with membership, volunteer committee chairs, and the general public.

Hours: This is a full-time, 40-hour position. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 9a-5p, with three to four evenings a month required. Occasional Saturday hours will also be required and scheduled in advanced, compensated with flex time as negotiated with Managing Director.

Primary Responsibilities: The Education Program and Marketing Assistant provides administrative support for the Senior Administrator/Director of Continuing Education and other management/leadership as directed. The position serves as the lead point of contact for marketing and web assistance, including the design of web and print graphics/publications. As primary administrative support for all public programs and special events, the Education Program and Marketing Assistant will assist with hospitality services for all programs and events as required. The position is also the initial point of welcome and information for all members/visitors.

Demonstrable Knowledge and Experience:

Technical experience: MS Office Suite; Google docs; databases; Survey Monkey; Constant Contact. Must have professional experience with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. At least one year experience with WordPress or similar web platform.
Experience with print/web design and publishing required. Marketing/advertising experience preferred.

Experience with Donor Perfect or other CRM database preferred.

Skills:

Experience with business correspondence; good writing and editing skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment, to be flexible with daily realigning of priorities.
Capacity to work well as part of a small administrative group, and be a team player.
Capacity to be flexible with a complex organization with a large group of volunteer members.
Proactive and self-starter; anticipates problems and creatively contributes to solutions.
Excellent communication skills; friendly, customer service orientation.
Outstanding organizational skills.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Bachelors’ Degree required, with minimum 2 years professional experience.

Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license required and access to a car preferred.
